Is it the recommended engine set up that you bought? I have the Pulse 25e XT with a power 32 and I run 3300 4S 14.4 Li-Po. I got them from HobbyKing. That battery with the power 32 has tons of power.
I'm still learning about lipos so with my two electrics I just put in what is recommended.

Yeah, this is for the high power set up. This motor is the equivelent to the power 32. I believe it is a slight lower rpm but more watts. or whatever. Note this motor is 25 not 78 dollars.. And all reviews on turnigy apear to be as good. There are alot of happy customers. I was thinkin 4s 3500 but 20c or 30c? Does this change actual output watts?

Thats a huge difference in price. I'm buying 3 motors to 1 of eflights for the same money. That way I put extra money in esc's for programming dual motors. And has telemetry it hooks up to pc for looking at flight run stats. might be usefull for tweaking in plane favorate settings and gear.

Some of the more experienced guys in the club such as Steve I, Tony C and Roger can give you a lot more info on all that lipo and power talk. I'm pretty basic when it comes to putting my planes together.
I'm sure they will read the thread and can help. If not just shoot them an email.

Hi Bobby - If you put in a battery with a low C rating, you'll exceed the capability of the battery which can cause any or all of these things: low voltage cut-off will be achieved so the ESC will shut off the motor; you'll kill the pack; and your power will suffer. I would get the largest Amp draw rating ("C") you can get just to ensure you're battery isn't limiting the power. A 20C pack can only deliver 20 times the Amperage of the pack. So a 20C 3000mAh pack can deliver a burst of (20*3A) 60 Amps which is what your ESC is rated at, but a 30C pack gives you some margin. Considering that the C ratings are often over stated and you don't want to hit the C rating, I recommend using the highest possible C rating unless you're putting in a battery that has a much larger capacity than you really needed (meaning that you can get more than a 20 minute flight). Also, the larger the C rating the lower the internal resistance of the battery so in theory the voltage shouldn't drop as fast when a load is applied. Steve

Progress: The plane is almost finished now. All that needs done is rods bent for servos. Esc installed and programmed.
The motors fit like a dream Absoltely perfect. Flush with cowling. But it took 2 hours for each motor to be installed. Very tight fit.
I am also installing lights into the plane as well. I only have a dx6i. And with retracts and flaps. I dont have another channel for lights. So I am using a plain ol 9v battery.
The plane is a bit larger and heavier than I expected. Especially with two of these big motors. 4250 700kv Maybe I can get gary to come over and help me finish the ultra cote with his iron. And help me balance it in the future. I will send complete pics when project is complete. I am going to fly this week. You will probably see this planes maiden flight this weekend. I need to practice with the epts mentor a few times before this goes up im a bit rusty. Maybe steve or tony will be at the field and buddy box it for me.
Over all I give eflite 7 out of 8 stars for this one.. There was a bit of damage from shipping on one of the wings not enough to send back but enough to notice every time you look at it. When I took it out of box parts were everywhere. And preinstalled flaps linkages were way off. not even close. Looosing some throw in that . But its flaps no big deal. Stickers dont like to stay down on plane either. Using ca to hold them down.

Ok, Completed!! Pics are a bit dark. It is a new shop and I dont have all the lights hooked up yet. But I got a few in the sun partially. I also threw in a pic of the mentor. This is also a e-flite plane as well. It has training wheels so to speak. Special Thanks to Gary V. He made multiple trips to the house and gave some great insight.

Great build man.. Have one of the experienced guys check it out and fly it. See you at the field on Sunday. We will be out there early.

I look forward to seeing this one in the air. Make sure you get some help on the first time flight. This one has a little higher wing loading and is fast fast fast. I will be at Poplar Ford Oct 23 and 24 if weather holds.
